Report by Abula
Preparing for the meat
Tisk asked Abula about the Elma meeting of the year 2002 about one month before.
Quite quickly it became sure that Abula, Tisk and mr can come for 99% sure. Other
players couldn't say a final word because of their other artivities. Many people
thought about coming and we did ask maybe 30 kuskis to join. Finally we got nine:
Abula, kuiva, Tisk, mr, Orcc, Jokke, dz, Karlis and mrickx from Czech Republic.
After solving the problem of the number of enough participaters we had to find
a place for the meeting. Pretty understandable that no one would want to share
their homes for us so we (or actually mr) started to seek some summer cottage
which could be rent. We chose Karhula from Lammi. At first we took 2 days but because it would end at 12:00
on Sunday we decided to reserve one day more so it ends at 12:00 on Monday.
The purpose of this meeting was playing, playing and hoyling so we had to get
as many computers as possible. The result was pretty good: 7 computers, mr brought
2 and mrickx, kuiva and Jokke 0. We other took 1. I think we had more machines
in the meeting than anyone else before in Elma history.
Quite many foreigner kuskis wanted to join and one guy even decided to do it.
mrickx brought czech hoyling power (Carlsbad) to meat. Some of us might be
thinking what 8 finnish and one czech guys are doing in middle of nowhere
with 7 computers and playing one 2D single playing game. Anyway it was great thing
that mrickx was able to join. One small detail: in customs they stopped mrickx
suspecting him as an illegal emigrant on Thursday. mrickx gave my telephone
number to them and they called me. The conversation in the phone was like this:
Mr. official: Hello, here's speaking Mr. blaa from the south Finlands blaa blaa
Me: Er..Hi!
Mr. official: Will you have any visitors today or in the near future?
Me: Hmm..no..?
Mr. official: Anybody from abroad?
Me: Oh, actually yes.
Mr. official: Who?
Me: I'm not sure about his name but I think Alex something.
Mr. official: Yea, Alexander Mesiarik
Me: Yea, he.
Mr. official: From what country?
Me: Czech Republic.
Mr. official: How long will he spend here in Finland?
Me: One week I think
Mr. official: When will meet him?
Me: Tomorrow.
Mr. official: Alright, we are just ensuring he has somebody who will take care of.
Mr. official: Thanks for co-operation, bye.
Me: Bye..
I think they called because mrickx is quite young and travelling alone.

2. August 2002, Friday (pictures 001-024)
The participaters came with 4 cars.
Abula woke up around 2:30 o'clock and drove to Tuska about 3:30, then they drove
about 350km to Jalasjärvi from Oulu. There we ate a few slices of bread and
changed a couple of words with Orcc's dad. After loading Abula's car we keep on
the trip to Lahti where Tuska's girl friend's living. And finally from Lahti to
Lammi central to meet mr who had come from Sotkuma (next to Joensuu) alone and
already eaten a big kebab. We said "Hi!" and went to store to buy some food and
drink. Abula used 25e and mr over 50e, I don't remember how much Orcc, something
between those. Candies, limonade, sider, apples, red pepper, feta cheese, bread,
pizza, hampurgers, chips etc. The clock was 13:00 when we get out of the store
and started to check maps that we could somehow find our way to the cottage.
Tisk woke up around 9:30 drove to Tampere to take kuiva and check his new
apartment. They went to store in Tampere and drove to the cottage a little bit
before me, mr and Orcc. They called us around 13:15 and gave some details of the
place and the roads. About 30mins later we were together and started immediately
to unload our cars. Quite soon we realized that mr's microwave owen and table
are useless because the equipment of the cottage was good enough. We arranged
the place better for us by moving some chairs and tables. Fridge was already full
and it contained just 5 people's stuff. Anyway after checking the place we
started to spend time by battling. We didn't save those results because not
everyone was playing but if I remember correct.. I won them :). Or maybe mr got
another one BECAUSE I was talking with PeXi in a phone and they doubled the
battling time from 20mins to 55mins or so. PeXi told me the times of new WR
table and we all very happy...or not mr and Tisk because they lost their WRs.
Then Karlis called Tisk, they were in Lahti now (about 60km to Lammi). If I've
understood correct Karlis took dz's computer in early morning before dz went
to work that they can go one hour earlier (because no need to visit dz's home
anymore). Then Karlis went to sleep more to home (?) and after some time drove
to Jokke's home. Their next mission was to find mrickx and pick up him. They
SMSed him - no answer. They phoned him - no answer (or actually there was
some czech voice telling the mobile phone is closed). They phoned again and
mrickx answered. They decided to meet him in Paavo Nurmi statue. The only
problem was that neither Karlis nor Jokke knew where this statue is. However
they started to round Olympic Stadium and pretty soon found this big guy with
a big bag. Then only dz was missing. They phoned to him but once again a tiny
problem. dz didn't even know himself where he was working exactly (he is doing
some gardening for Helsinki city and work place is different everyday). Anyway
he knew the place is somewhere in Tuusula and Karlis with fellows took a
direction there. Luckily they found dz and began to travel to Lahti. In a phone
call with Tisk Karlis asked the way to the summer cottage. No problems in this
part and the rest 4 kuskis arrived to Karhula around eight o'clock.
Jokke, Karlis, mrickx and dz checked the place and noticed the fridge is full.
Then set up their machines and we started to play again. No multi nor battles
just some various levels like those F02L01-05.levs This night was decided to
dedicated for drinking alcohol if someone wants. Tisk got pretty drunk and felt
asleep first, even before Abula who had waken up quite early and driven like 8-9
hours.
3. August 2002, Saturday (pictures 025-039)
Saturday was a day of battling. I think we took 16 20mins battle that day which
means over 5 hours pure hoyling. On saturday we also watched Elma Crime. Most of
us had already seen it but for Orcc, kuiva and Karlis it was new. In the night
we took the sauna contest, who can be there the most longest. After other people
dropped out only me, Tisk, kuiva and Karlis were left. It seemed like Tisk would
rule the contest but after he threw dozens litras of water to heater he went
outside himself! kuiva seemed pretty suffering but he didn't want to left the
sauna first of us three and were begging me and Karlis to surrender. Finally
we decided to take triple victory because of kuiva. The rest night was playing
and speaking about army experiences (what else).
4. August 2002, Sunday (pictures 040-059)
On sunday people started to play multi WRs. They got 9 and actually every level
they tried. Only Animal Farm for mr and mrickx was a bit problematic (they played
it 5 hours) and didn't get. Also they talked about internal styles and shared them.
Hehe, there are many levels where you can use alovolt and even brutal volt :P.
This day had to contain Elma quiz but there wasn't enough interest to arrange it,
maybe next time. On sunday we took group pictures. In the late of sunday (actually
it was monday already) people laughed at and were jumping on me (I was sleeping
because of tomorrow's long trip). While I was waking up I heard me and mr had
joined to FM (we had been thinking about it over 6 months so it was that big
surprise for me :]). There is a picture in the folder of that situation. After
that the Helsinki crew left the cottage and we said goodbye to Karlis, Jokke and
dz.
5. August 2002, Monday (pictures 060-077)
On monday the rest of us cleaned up the cottage and mr and mrickx drove the Animal
Farm multi WR. Also we wrote a few words to cottage's guestbook: "Finnish Elma
Meeting 2.8.-5.8.2002, participaters: Abula etc, We hoyled battles from morning
to morning and drove 9 multi WRs" and left multi wr list to the table. The place
we left around 11:30, mr drove to home searching the sign "Höyläämö" which he
noticed when coming to Lammi. Unfortunately he didn't see it anymore and didn't
get any awesome pictures of it. Tisk brough kuiva to home to Tampere and drove to
Ulvila himself. Only Abula, mrickx and Orcc were still travelling. Tampere -
Jalasjärvi is about 160km. We left Orcc to Jalasjärvi and drove to Oulu with
mrickx. In Oulu we noticed that Orcc's telt and football pump are in my car (both
of those we didn't need). After unloading my car we decide to go to visit PeXi
in Haukipudas. Abula spend the time in PeXi by sleeping and mrickx and PeXi were
playing multi Bowling (no WR), Skijump, playing music etc.
6. August 2002, Tuesday (picture 078)
On tuesday mrickx said goodbye to me and PeXi and left the city.
7. August 2002, Wednesday
On wednesday at 14:40 the air place left to Czech Republic and a few hours later
mrickx was at home. The meet was over and everybody at home. Next time in the
meeting could be norther, please. Also a little bit longer because he had no time
for many activities like quiz, football :P, flag tag, impsybility special edition
etc.

6-21 were for 20mins battles. Note: replay number 12 is wrong because Abula
improved the record and overwrote it by accident. Some replays and records
are missing and they might be fixed some day (FEM guys could send me those to me).
